Description:Shake the dust off your chess pieces, clear the cobwebs out of your cranium, and join us for the Kingco Pre-Season Tournament! This event will give you a chance to check out your Kingco competition, update your ratings, and help establish your team’s board order before league play begins.
Registration by e-mail to Barry Hansen by the end of Nov 13th.
Check-in: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Start time: 4:00 p.m.
End time: 9:00 p.m.
Format: Three rounds of Game/45
Entry Fee: None
Grades: 9 - 12
All Kingco high schools are invited. This includes any school eligible to join the Kingco League,
whether or not it has ever participated. This match is individual (not team) competition,
and any Kingco school may enter any number of students.
Total tournament size is limited to 100.
This is a fun match to limber up your chess muscles – no trophies or awards, since there are only three rounds and no entry fees. But you can win new ratings and achieve bragging rights.
We will have a dinner break after Round 1, in the Commons area. Coaches and parents, please plan on ordering food from local restaurants, or bringing dinners. If you order locally, you will have time to pick up food while the first round games are in progress. No food or drink is permitted in the library.
